Job Description 

Working alongside the Dispatch Manager and Supervisors, you will be responsible for ensuring customers’ orders are picked and labelled correctly, ready for dispatch. This is a fast-paced job which requires customers’ orders to be picked in a timely and efficient manner.

Current working hours are 9.30am/10.30am starts until finish. Working 5 days a week, across a 7-day production, which includes weekends. Basic maths skills will also be required for this job role. Please note we currently have no vacancies for part time hours. 

 

Key responsibilities of the job: 

 

  • Ensuring all customer orders are picked in a timely manner, and the product leaves the factory meeting company specification with particular attention paid to quality

  • Ensure the products are picked to exact customer requirements – undamaged, hygienically and without waste of manpower or time.

  • Ensuring all products picked and accurately counted in a timely manner.

  • Ensure your immediate supervisor/manager is aware of problem areas in picking before they become critical to the job

  • Keep accurate and legible paperwork.

  • Responsible for packing a designated section each day.

  • Prior to finishing each day, all checks must be carried out to ensure there are no products remaining, and spot checks carried out on customer orders to ensure correct.

  • Always setting a good example to staff in both manner and conduct.

  • Ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as Health & Safety regulations.

  • An any other reasonable tasks that are required as part of the needs of the business

 

Key Skills:

Job Description:

Working in a food production environment, ensuring the preparation of the product is carried out effectively and efficiently, as directed. The nature of the work means that you will be working in a chilled, ambient or freezer environment. Work can be repetitive so candidates must be able to keep motivated throughout the whole shift.

Working hours are either shift patterns of either 6am – 2pm or 2pm to 10pm or start times tend to be 6-8am but can vary with finish times dependent on production volumes. This is for full time permanent position, working 5 days a week across a 7-day production, including weekends. Please note we currently have no vacancies for part time hours.

Hygiene Operative - Nights

Job Description:

As a Hygiene Operative you will be responsible for a variety of tasks from general sweeping and cleaning to disassembling production belts and machinery and deep cleaning to a very high standard ensuring that all services are fully sanitised. Current working hours are 7pm – 3am, (this may change depending on the needs of the business) working 5 shifts over a 7-day rotation which includes weekends. The pay for this role starts at £9.10, increasing to £9.40 after 13 weeks training and Level 2 food safety are complete.

Key responsibilities of the job:

  • Cleaning to a very high standard ensuring all machinery are free of any contamination,

  • Food Hygiene standards to be maintained to a very high standard.

  • To report any damage discovered whilst cleaning, including any damage to the belts, machinery or equipment.

  • Ensure that all production waste is removed and disposed of appropriately.

  • Make sure all appropriate sign off documentation is signed when all cleaning task have been completed.

 

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience relating to Hygiene cleaning is an advantage

  • Able to understand Good manufacturing practices.

  • Capable of working independently or as part of a team.

  • Understanding of site hygiene and health and safety.

  • Clear communications skills.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Previous experience with cleaning chemicals and COSHH procedures.

This job role includes: 

  • Effectively supervise the team to ensure the products are made to exact specification, within food safety procedures and without excessive waste of ingredients, manpower or time.

  • Ensuring line is running efficiently whilst monitoring quality control through coaching & working alongside line operatives.

  • Providing training, coaching and mentoring to all employees to ensure they are competent within their job.

We are currently looking to recruit a Dispatch Manager to join our team. As Despatch Manager your key responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

  • Correct packing of all customer orders, efficient use of resources within the picking area.

  • Complete final quality checks.

  • Maintaining and controlling the optimum number of staff required to ensure a profitable and efficient picking area.

On a Roll Sandwich Company is currently recruiting for Quality Assurance Technicians to join the team. This is a full time and permanent position. The job will involve ensuring overall quality standards are maintained for all products and the factory in general.

Working hours for this role have a varied shift pattern of 6am – 3pm or 10am – finish, 5 days a week across a 7-day production, which includes weekend work. Salary for this position starts at £21K per annum and is negotiable dependent on experience.

Key responsibilities of the job:

  • To ensure the product quality standards are available on each line and that they are being followed correctly 

  • To ensure policies and procedures relating to quality, food safety and H&S are being adhered to

  • To support production in solving issues and making decisions on quality/Food safety (escalating to Quality Manager/ Technical Manager if necessary)

  • To conduct internal audits against the agreed schedule

  • To carry out all micro testing against the schedule and that retests on adverse results are sent away and the spreadsheet is completed correctly

  • To carry out internal checks/ calibrations of equipment inclusive of chemical dosing, temp probes and scales etc

  • Completion of all necessary paperwork within the QMS

  • Communicate with suppliers with regards to non-conformances.  Ensure that non-conformances are followed up, effective corrective actions are agreed and repeat issues are dealt with in conjunction with Quality Manager

  • Carry out new employee inductions, training as necessary

  • Attend morning production meetings and be prepared with previous day’s issues/corrective actions and upcoming information that needs to be shared

  • Set a good example to all other employees in both manner and conduct

  • Carry out any other reasonable tasks that are required as part of the needs of the business

  • To carry our daily GMP audits and raise Non-conformances as appropriate

  • To conduct taste panels and resolve corrective actions

Ensuring overall quality standards are maintained for all products and the factory in general. Start times can vary from 6am – 9am and current working hours are approx. 40 hours a week, dependent on the business needs, working 5 shifts over a 7-day rotation which includes weekends. Starting from £28,000 per annum, salary is negotiable and is dependent upon experience. Prior experience of working in a food related environment and managing people is essential for this position.

Key responsibilities of the job:

  • Ensuring overall quality standards are maintained for all products and the factory in general.

  • To manage the daily activities of the QAs and QCs ensuring the best possible quality is maintained.  To be accountable for their actions.

  • To manage the stevens system and stock controller to ensure that all products are fully traceable. To be accountable for the stock controllers’ actions.

  • To ensure there are up to date product quality standards on each line for all products and that they are being adhered to.

  • To ensure policies and procedures relating to quality, food safety and H&S are being adhered to.

  • To effectively manage the complaints process and making the Technical manager aware of progress/issues. 

  • To identify room for improvements and seek to improve upon processes/practices in the factory and the QMS.

  • To support production in solving issues and making decisions on quality/Food safety (escalating to Technical Manager if necessary).

  • To conduct internal audits against the agreed schedule.

  • To audit the training matrix on a weekly basis to ensure that new starters are being trained and if not reporting this to Operations manager and/or production manager/Technical manager.

  • Ensuring that all people working on CCPs are trained and records are available

  • To ensure non-conformances raised are followed up and closed off being that from GMP, taste panels or internal non-conformances.

Supporting the NPD team, On a Roll Sandwich Company are looking for a full time Product Development Technologist to assist with new and existing development projects. This role would be suitable for someone with previous experience in product development. Candidates must have a passion for food and be a strong team player. This opportunity is ideal for a candidate beginning their career in the food industry. Salary for this position is £21-£22K.

Key responsibilities of the job:

  • To assist the Product Development Manager on all new and existing product development projects

  • To assist in recipe development using recipe sheets and sample materials to develop and send finished samples to our customers

  • Carry out taste panel testing trials for existing and new products developed as part of the development process

  • To liaise with suppliers in sourcing of new raw materials, costings and ensuring our administration is up to date with correct ingredient specifications

  • To assist with the creation of finished product specification sheets for customers.

  • Provide samples requested by customers on time, with supporting paperwork including preliminary specification details.

  • Communicating effectively with various departments to achieve project objectives

  • Following all BRC, HACCP requirements during NPD work activities

  • Organising & implementing factory trials and supporting NPD Manager in other tasks to achieve on-time & efficient launches

We are looking for someone who has experience of dealing with customers on the phone, as well as being able to report, and include data input into various Excel spreadsheets.

Supporting the HR team, On a Roll Sandwich Company are looking for a full time Recruitment & Training Manager to support with internal recruitment and training newcomers.

This is a full-time permanent job, working 40 hours a week Monday - Friday. Previous experience of working in HR and recruitment is essential for this position. Previous experience of working in a management position is also essential for this job. Salary for this position starts at £25,000 per annum and is negotiable dependent on experience.

The role would include working alongside the HR Manager, providing high volume internal recruitment across all departments and at all levels. This role would also include training newcomers and supporting with onsite inductions. Candidates must have prior experience of a Recruitment/ HR background, have excellent communications skills and be confident.

Key responsibilities of the job:

  • Managing job boards, ensuring jobs are kept up to date and are regularly reviewed

  • Ensuring high volume recruitment across the factory

  • Vetting candidates and conducting telephone interviews

  • Conducting onboarding and pre-employment checks

  • Liaising with department managers to ensure staffing needs are met

  • Supporting payroll and HR with the relevant documents and ensuring starter packs are processed for new starters
